St Patrick’s Day with Guinness at Central Park Avenue, 1Utama

This was my first St Patrick’s Day celebration. The only other time I’ve heard of the event was from friends telling me how they were rolling about crazily in a zorb ball and downing Guinness with others.

And it really seemed St Patrick’s Day was an event you’re most likely to bump into friends and make more friends. Plus, the ladies at the event were hot! Whoever said there weren’t any hot chics who didn’t drink Guinness. 😛

Some new stage performances I heard was from Damage Hamster and another before Love Me Butch came on. I was still having the flu, so I left before Love Me Butch appeared. But I bet everyone who was still sitting under the drizzle were having an awesome time with their draft.

Okay, enough jibber-jabber. Here are the selected shots of the event. Click for larger version.

At the event, I also met my collegemate Veron. Told you it’s easy to bump into old friends there. 🙂

If it weren’t for the flu, I’d definitely wanted to grab a bite from one of the stores at the food garden. There was just so much to taste. And all I could do was smell ’em. Damn sore throat.

Oh well, I guess it’s better luck next year. So here I end my celebration of St Patrick’s Day at Central Park Avenue, 1Utama with the fireworks video.

p.s.: Shot using my ol iPhone 2G. So don’t expect HD material. 😛

Right Now

I’m doing nothing but looking at photographers portfolios. Absorbing and observing the details, colors, mood, model, posture, curves, lighting and everything which creates a simply beautiful photo. Lovely! 🙂

Okay. I won’t leave you out. Here’s one of them I’ve bookmarked.

She’s a Polish photographer; Katarzyna Napiorkowska. Her portraiture and fashion is mesmerizing.

Money is Depression

If I was ever diagnosed with depression, one of its causes would be money. Yes, I blame the currency for what it’s worth to force a person into a depression. Not only in mind, but in heart. It weakens my mental state horrendously and creates an unstable rhythm of my pulsing heart.

It’s not that I can’t save. It’s not that I don’t have money. But the sheer topic of discussion when you need more of it, is simply depressing. More so, when you can’t vent it out and scream.

I don’t have enough money! Damnit!

And I really treasure the moments when I either don’t have to think about it, or worry about it. Maybe it’s my laid back nature. I don’t want to have to stress over something so trivial. I want to live a happy life without worry and depression.

Alas, money can never leave anyone alone. Its value is too high and over appreciated today. Everyone with little money and too much money suffer depression. If not every second, every day in their life they’ll cross upon a moment they think of money.

Money is too commercial. Its used for nearly anything.

Sigh. Money is depression.

Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland

You’ve to be mad as a hatter, he said. How I’ve missed this line and it came back to life with Johnny Depp. In my childhood, it was classical Disney films from Pete’s Dragon and more.

Hello Wonderland

Reliving the tale foretold in a new generation put a new twist to its origin. Not to mention, it had a tinge of maturity in this new Alice. The environment to me was nothing to scream about but I loved the art direction. It was very well pulled off, keeping its original essence.

And indeed, you’ve to be mad as a hatter before watching this movie. Meaning, I’d recommend you watch the original Disney cartoon before watching the movie. You’ll enjoy it more and relate to it better.

alice cartoon

The movie kept the more memorable moments from its history. That’s why I was saying you should watch the original cartoon. One of these moments was the smiling and disappearing Cheshire cat in the sky. Or, the red queen and her croquet stick.

Nonetheless, big thank you to Tim Burton in bringing this back to life. Modernizing the Disney story to young geeky kids today was a great idea. 🙂

Would I watch it again?

I’ve to say, no. Like the original fairy tale, the story is meant to be told and leave a memory. It’s left a sweet memory with me and kudos to Tim Burton on a job well done.

Would it be worth watching in 3D?

I’ve to say, I don’t have the slightest clue. I enjoyed the normal viewing already. Though my friends think there’ll definitely be an advantage with all the renders from the storming red knights to the fugly black creature.

Zee Avi is Coming To Malaysia

This is one concert I’m definitely attending this year. Not because I’m a die-hard fan but I’d like to hear her sing live.

Because with a sultry voice like hers, it’ll be monumental to absorb the strumming and laid back feeling. It’ll be like going on holiday when you close your eyes. Only to be hit back into reality when you leave the hall.

Zee-Avi in Malaysia, can’t wait for it!

P.S.: I wanted to put the original music video from her YouTube channel but it had some material infringement. 🙁
