Bowling of a Time

Yesterday a couple of friends and colleagues of mine organized a bowling activity. It’s tough getting directors of your own companies together for such an event at times. Especially during the really busy periods. Periods like now when I’m even forced to work weekends. Argh!

Anyway, we had a bowl of a time.

It’s been ages since I picked up my bowling ball. Yes, I own 2 balls as I used to be pretty active in sports back in school. Those were the really good old days of my sporting life.

And the highest game I’ve ever gotten in bowling was 285. In visualization, that’s approximately 9 strikes in a row. I don’t think I’ll achieve that mark again unless I go and get some coaching again.

Oh well. I’m not that serious in the game anymore but sure would like to be active in it once again. I’ve totally forgotten how should I aim anymore. LOL!

By the way, serious bowlers need to be wary of the UBowl (1Utama) alley because one my balls was damaged with a scrape between the finger holes. I don’t think I can use this ball now, ever. 🙁

At-suiiiii

Hot-ness! I don’t know if you’d call it humid, warm or plain hot. But all I know is I feel my sweat glans leaking and I’m getting all sticky. Even at night. 🙁

What in the world is happening?! Global warming b*tch slapping all of us. Or, is it just the normal Malaysian weather at this time of the year. Because as far as I recall, Chinese New Year is normally the season when the heat is really unbearable.

Okay. This may not be as bad as summer in Australia and probably Japan. But I still hate the feeling of stickiness. Especially even after a cool bath, while wiping down I feel like I’m sweating again.

Argh! Where’s the rain when you need it?!

*runs around the room like a headless chicken bumping into things*

Hmm, maybe if I stared at this picture long enough I’ll feel cooler.

What d’you think?

I want to be connected every hour!

As much as I spend my hours in front of the computer most of the time. It’s my job. I also want to be very agile and mobile wherever I am. Even, while I’m in the loo!

But I’m stuck in a situation where no plans fit me even if I went out to buy myself the 3G phone I wanted. 🙁

And honestly, I only prefer 2 telcos in Malaysia. Either the green spring or the yellow man. The blue or purple dude can stay away for now.

Here’s my beef with data plans right now.

The green spring will charge you for every additional data you overuse and being the connectivity addict I am, I’m pretty sure I’ll be overcharged. Plus, it doesn’t tell me what’s the data limit for the specific plan. *slaps forehead*

The yellow man on the other hand has a great unlimited and only throttles me option. Though my own comparison shown me they’ll hurt you most if you tend to communicate via SMS a lot.

However, both fall into the same bowl of dilemma I face. I don’t want to commit to a phone call bill and a data plan. I’d like to have only 1 thing to think about; phone bill. You can split the data and calls in my bill, but don’t tell me:

Danny, you’ve to pay $ amount for your calls and $ amount on top for your data plan.

I wish I had a telco which told me:

Danny, if you got $ plan. It’ll fit within your monthly budget. The call and data is consolidated into this plan. But do note, there’s a limited 500MB per month cap and we’d throttle you otherwise.

See, simple. Sigh. Now all I can do is either wait for my ideal telco or work my back side to earn more. LOL!

Movie Review: Iron Man 2

My first movie of the month. Enjoyed at Cineleisure cineplex. And allow me to get this off my chest. Sorry eCurve, I hate saying your name despite it even being shorter. I’m just attached to it being called Cineleisure.

Okay, so about Iron Man 2. According to my friend, Cathay now has an additional movie option besides 3D called 2D digital. Or, something like that. I guessed it meant instead of pulling film reels, the film would be projected digitally. And, we were right.

Not only did we see TV ads transit to the cinema screen, the Iron Man 2 movie was superbly sharp and its colours, awesome.

Not being a comic fan of Iron Man, its movie is telling his story to me. How Iron Man came about and how even the Avengers were related to him. And the only Avenger I recall is the purple costumed dude who shoots arrows. Sadly, that too I don’t remember when he came about because even Avengers have a history.

Nonetheless, I found this continuation packed with more gun busting, family related, relationship connection and friendship. Though I’ve to kind of agree with Ariel’s brother’s hypothesis of the villain. He died a little too fast.

Well, I guess there’s only so much a villain could’ve done with whips in his hands. Versus a suit equipped with rockets, pulse cannons and high- beam lasers.

The Iron Man movie maintains its best selling-factor; technology. Tony plays a little more with blueprints in mid-air and less of him clanking on the hammer as the first episode.

By the way, you’ll want to stay until the end of the movie. Because there’s a teaser to Iron Man 3. 🙂

Will I rewatch Iron Man 2?

Only if it’s in the digital version. 😀 Yes, it was that more enjoyable. Bring on the Full HD experience into cinemas!

P.S.: I know it’s Mothers Day but dear Mum’s, please exit the cinema if you can’t keep your child hushed. Especially after many other people already asked you to do so. Thank you.

I would be an Awesome Brand Evangelist

Nuffnang’s introduced a new program for its Gliteratti members. It’s called the; Evangelist Program. It’s for brand lovers to shower their love for, brands. Doh.

Evangelist section

According to their blog, brand evangelists get the low-down and inside information of new product launches and other exclusive stuff from the brands.

I would be an awesome brand evangelist because:

  1. I love branded stuff.
  2. I love free stuff.
  3. I trust branded stuff.
  4. I value their customer service more if I were their brand evangelist.
  5. I would tell my parents, my brothers, my relatives, my friends, my friend’s friends and tell total strangers about the brand.
  6. I would convert as many of the above to be on the same brand.
  7. I would blog (almost) daily about the brand.
  8. I would love to attend all the happening events of the brand.
  9. I would protect the brand.
  10. I would make the brand my own.

In short, I’d be the most awesome brand evangelist. 😀

Now, can I get that with an Apple iPhone 3GS? ROFL!

Disclaimer: It’s not my fault if your product or brand doesn’t meet my expectations.

You can’t buy my brand evangelism or loyalty. But you can improve further. And I’ll support that. 😉
