Logistics company sent 1 lorry and only 1 big dude to help deliver 2 crates weighing 45KGs! OMG! Because of this, I had to help the dude carry the crates down from the lorry which wasn’t the low type.
Personally, I’m fine helping the guy but I was fucking pissed off by the packaging – fucking nails jutted out. Not wearing any gloves or wrapping the nails before unloading, my palm was the victim of this delivery. Fuck you, forwarding company who didn’t have common sense to nail the thing.
Wolverine got me!
Once the delivery guy left, I washed the wound of my oozing blood and dried it. Then applying some fresh aloe vera as it’s meant to help with cuts. After which, my Dad suggested washing with Dettol and applying anti-septic cream to the wound. So I did.
By night, the wound wasn’t too bad and I was showing friends over mamak how I fled away from Wolverine.
By nightfall
There was still some oozing from the wounds – looked like water. But everyone’s concern was more on whether it was rusty nails, as it would cause tetanus later.
I believe I was lucky this time. But will monitor its recovery, as my Dad mentioned if I notice puss, then I may have to go for a tetanus jab.
Me and the group of BNI Radiant friends tried out the go-karts at Malaysia Agricultural Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) – absolute mouthful. It was an Everyday groupon deal suggested by one of the members and since I’ve never been in a go-kart (yes, NEVER), I saw this as a good opportunity to have a go at it.
Before we flagged off, everyone had to provide their name, mobile number and email – I think. Once that was done, we were given fishnets for our heads – presuming for hygiene purposes. But thank goodness we were given them, because the helmets were soaked in sweat. Eeewww.
After getting the helmet on, staff were pointing us to our cars. Before jumping right into the seats, I noticed gravel in them and was wondering why – which I found out soon enough. As soon everyone was in their go-karts, staff pulled strings on the engines to rev them up. Then, we were off.
One of the first things I noticed was, if you weren’t tall enough, you’d not be able to comfortably accelerate and brake the go-kart – seats weren’t adjustable. Nonetheless, I just floored the fuel and see what the go-kart could do. And man, my member wasn’t joking when he said these things can go quite fast.
After a couple of rounds, my kart behaved funny – unbalanced. Slowing down a little, I noticed my front left tyre had blew! WHAT?!
So I drove into the pt-stop and got a kart changed – which I loved. Because the kart I got was much faster and handling seemed to be much better than my first kart. Hence, I was zooming faster and was even more daring to handle corners. During which, I got first hand experience of knowing what a drift would feel like. Woohooo!
However, I think if you’re not a casual go-kart driver, you’d feel a little nauseous – I felt that way, almost wanting to throw up. Oh, remember the gravel. You get debris flung at you because the track you’re on is a normal parking lot which they just tar once it awhile.
Overall, my first go-kart experience was satisfying and I left with a minor blister in the center of my left palm – believed to be because I was holding the steering too tightly. *shrug*
My buddy; Philip, called me one weekend asking if I wanted to go for a round of golf. Since I rarely get the chance to play nowadays, because of quorum (number of people), I jumped at the opportunity for a round.
We teed off at the Bukit Utama 9-hole golf course. It’s been ages since I’ve played there. My last game was with my brothers and Dad which we’d normally complain how the course wasn’t well managed and it was a sheer mosquito zone. Alas, that was 2 years ago.
With Bandar Utama’s The Club now, I’d say they’ve done a pretty good job overhauling the place and the course. The surrounding development definitely helped the course – removing most of the mosquito breeding grounds. So playing the course was way better than back then.
3rd last hole
I wouldn’t say they got rid of the mosquito problem, I wish they did, but at least you don’t smack yourself around as much now. And for a Sunday afternoon session, it was a nice time because there wasn’t many groups – no waiting, no tailing, no rushing. And, we were just lucky as the weather was just nice. Thank you God. 🙂
As long they keep this maintenance up, lessen the mosquitoes further, this course will be a hidden gem for many players. Though I wouldn’t recommend it for players who rather love playing 18-holes or prefer a longer game – longest hole is around 490m.
Okay. I can’t say TV host or game show host and show host sounds a little weird, because this isn’t a show. Apart from that, this was a video me and my friends wanted to try doing. By the way, I didn’t volunteer to be the host!
So anyway. We were discussing over mamak one night on videos we’ve seen on YouTube where there’s a person (normally a hot chick) talking about a game. It intrigued us to find out how hard it would be to create a video like it.
Thankfully, we got the opportunity to attend the Maple Story event. Some would call it their big break, for us, it was either that or filming at one of my friend’s house while he played. Thank goodness!
The video was edited by one of my friends. And because we agreed a show needs a name, we just went along with Gamescoop.
Burp! Whoops. Excuse moi. It must have been the most awesome beef lasagna I’ve tasted – ever.
Me, Ariel and Hawk went to lunch at the Favola Italian Restaurant in Le Meridien, Kuala Lumpur. Obviously being Malaysian, we only went there because we had a bargain to enjoy. Lol. So don’t think I get to enjoy this kind of lunch ever so often, okay?! 😛
Bread, meet readers. Readers, meet bread.
The last time I spoke about bread was my date night with Ariel at Opus Bistro. Over back at Favola, we were served 5 types of bread – yes, each bread stick was different too. I don’t know their names but let’s call them; bread stick, chilli stick, pie stick, fluffy bread and chilli bread.
The chilli stick and chilli bread had some chilli flakes mixed into it. I guess it’s to give our Malaysian taste buds that kick we need most of the time. The pie stick texture taste reminded me of what you’d get when you ate chicken pie or puffs, hence the name I chose; pie stick. LOL!
We couldn’t really enjoy the vinegar with olive oil because there was too much olive oil. The only thing the bread absorbed was oil, as much as we did our best to drill the bread to the bottom.
Squid ink pasta
This was Hawk’s dish and I was really captivated by the colour. You hardly find restaurants who serve this actually get the squid ink colour correct. Mixed with some chilli flakes, this serving was light and it should be enjoyed by those who don’t like an overpowering flavour.
If only it were real bacon
Those are beef bacon – not bacon bacon. 😛 But the best part of this dish was the pasta. Its texture is completely different from what I’ve tasted. The sauce didn’t look too thick and the serving would be just nice for a guy.
Introducing Wagyu lasagna
Yes, this signature dish of Favola has got Wagyu beef cheeks in it. And it was all mine! Bwahahahahaha! The Wagyu pieces were just nice in size and without having to say much, it was tender when chewed. It gave the whole lasagna taste in your mouth a different feeling. And, don’t underestimate the portion because it’s just nice. Plus, we didn’t even order starters.
Tira-su-su
Hawk tried their Tiramisu and yes, the glass was bigger than your normal serving. It was about 4-5 inches tall. Though those bubbles were quite the fugly when you stare at it. LOL!
Like miners, me and Hawk dug into the Tiramisu figuring out where is the coffee – we heard rumors of Illy coffee in it. 😛
It was a really satisfying lunch and the 3 of us nearly wanted to roll out of the restaurant. Its setting was a classic masquerade with comfy chairs, which I believe come night, there’ll be a lot of people. So, if you’re planning to head there for some Wagyu lasagna, make sure you make reservations.
