It’s really been a testing month for me. My patience and my positivity most of all.
Whoever said a wedding is affordable, fuck you. Just admit you didn’t want to create the memorable wedding and you didn’t want to make it happen.
Hotels in KL are charging exorbitantly for their ballrooms from minimum of RM1800 not including the 16% service charge and government tax. And, there aren’t Chinese restaurants which are nice yet cater to non-halal patrons. If you’re an entrepreneur in F&B, think about that.
Work too has been crazy. Malaysian clients think time stops for them and assume everything can be done very quickly. When you explain to them, they think you’re the one giving excuses, instead of using their ears to listen.
Well, I can’t wait to start on our side project. It’ll channel new breath and a different scenery. No more need to explain to people who don’t listen in the first place.
Can’t wait for September to start and leave this grey hair manifestation month of August.
…that flows from this pen, my life lessens by every stroke. With every tip it touches, it gets coarser. Till its last drop it holds on, till itself almost consumed. When flung to the ground for fun, it bares the pain. The life of the pen that holds my words till this day reminds me of the love that I hold on..just like the pen.
Don’t question what it is as it just came and then left me as like how the chilling winds grace my face every now and then. Accept the abstraction without explanation as I’m confused and lost, trying to find my way. I hide in the cold bitter darkness now where it feels like the only place giving me shelter. Oh, what am I to do?
Life is sad..isn’t it.
I actually posted this on August 31, 2004 during my early blogging years. While looking back into the web archive for something, I stumbled on some old blog posts which you may would’ve never come across.
Gotta hand it to them. Without them, I never would’ve imagined or remembered myself writing this.
Though I’m not familiar with her, I do know the name Amy Winehouse. As much as she’s been in the press, news of her death comes as a real shocker. Not as much as Michael Jackson to me, but enough to wonder what was the cause of it.
News sources say she was found in her apartment in the afternoon from drug overdose. Reading more on the news, apparently Amy was also booed at one of her concerts.
Well, it’s sad losing another artiste in the world. One female which many believe was making lots of headline and would’ve gone far. One of her famous songs you would’ve heard played on Malaysian radio; rehab.
In anime, we’ve what we call; filler episodes, where it’s a storyline which has little or nothing to do with the actual story being told. So, I guess this would be considered that. LOL!
Weirdly enough, I’ve noticed friends liking my Facebook Wall post rather than visiting the actual wedding entry to vote for us. Thus, here’s a visual guide for everyone so your support doesn’t go to waste. ๐
Step 2: Look for the Facebook Like button at the bottom of the entryย – before the related posts. Notice the red arrows in the image below.

Me and Ariel recently joined the WedInk Tattle’s wedding contest by The Peak Xperience. What’s more amazing was, we were shortlisted as 1 of 5 couples for the grand prize to have our dream wedding made into reality!
O-hai!
Our dream wedding in less than 500 characters
The submission required us to submit a description of our dream wedding. I’m no copywriter so I described it ala blogger-style lor. LOL!
Inspired by the cuteness we both share and love in Japanese-Korean culture. The dream wedding where beauty is formed by simple elegance, yet has space for our playfulness. A dream wedding our family and friends will remember for its uniqueness and cuteness. The dream wedding experience we can tell our kids that it was not only a dream.
Our REAL dream wedding
Because the description isn’t much, here are some ideas we’ve discussed we want to have and some ideas we wish we could have later.
Meet Danbo
This is a Japanese toy I’ve been looking for high-and-low and Ariel loves it too because it’s just so cute. The figurine originated from the Japanese comic; Yotsubato –ย read volume 28. I’ve not finished the whole story yet but it’s a good laugh to take some tension away because of the main character’s (Yotsuba) antics. LOL!

Pictures on a clothes line
We actually have a miniature version in our room, on aย corkboard. But what we really want to do is have a line of pictures of us, our friends, family and even our wedding, stringed up for everyone to imagine the life we’ve had before reaching this point.

Chibi-fied
An online friend of mine;ย CheeChingy, put in a special request to have Chibi-ness injected into our wedding. Well, given the chance, we definitely want it to happen because it’s part of the Japanese culture we both love too.

This was something Ariel drew for me in 2007, then I helped illustrate in Illustrator to bring it to life. The 2bblur Inc name was the initial name I had for my personal brand – gosh, what was I thinking!
The White Bear
Okay. We would love to have such a huge white bear that size but we’re going to be a little more practical. Part of our dream wedding is to have white bears on the registration table for guests. And, we’ve already found a few for this occasion. ๐

Interactive and Fun Cocktail Session
This may be too much to ask of guest. But I was pitching the idea to Ariel of having some photos of us on an easel. Then, there’d be speed bubbles for our guests to write a message.

Save the date
When it came to our invitation cards, we wanted something our guests would keep and find it interesting – we’re both spaced out creatives. One of the ideas Ariel liked was this invitation card where guests scratch out to get the date.

The idea I had started off with origami being Japanese inspired. Then, it led me to the idea of paper crafts.

However, this won’t really be an invitation card but more like a subtle reminder of our cute wedding which will be happening. ๐
Takeaway please
We went through the wedding dinner part by part, thinking what else can we do to make it even cuter. What else we may have missed out in the details. It was, wedding favors.

The kawaii-ness (cute-ness) of a bento box is what makes Japanese culture Japanese. It’s like if you go to Japan, you must eat sushi. Well, this will be one of the ideas we’ll be toying with too. ๐
That’s pretty much some of the stuff we have in mind to make our wedding the cutest one, ever!
