Avatar: The Last Airbender

Me and Ariel finally completed watching the series; Avatar: The Last Airbender. And for your information, this Avatar isn’t blue and doesn’t procreate using his pony tail. It’s about a 100+ year old boy defrosted from the ice returning to restore balance to the world. The original is an animated cartoon series with an American anime style.

Nickelodeon screened this before and is now running a cartoon marathon for it in conjunction with the upcoming movie. I’d like to place some pretty high expectations for the movie because it’s being directed by M.Night Shyamalan.

However, after having completed watching the animated series, I’m a little worried how they’re going to squeeze the story into a 120-150 minutes flick. The animated series consisted of 3 books or 3 seasons. Telling the story of how the Avatar formed his friendships and in the end, made the world peaceful once again. Not to mention, got the love of his life.

I don’t remember any continuations of M.Night Shyamalan’s work. It’s always 1 movie and that’s it. Which is why I’m very worried.

What’s going to be missing in the movie? What’s going to be deemed unimportant and not included in it? πŸ™

I hope they don’t end up butchering the storyline too much. Otherwise, we’re going to end up with a Devastator and 2 banging balls again. LOL!

Forget 1Malaysia, I want One Love

Passion for good music is in my blood. Thanks to my Dad I suppose. I’ve never loved any specific genre and have found myself enjoying and absorbing music from metal, pop, rock to even trance. And if there was 1 method I recall used to show unity and harmony, it’s music.

Remember, We Are the World?

Or, the song from Blue; One Love featuring Asian artists. The Malaysian artists involved were Ferhad, Ella and Fauziah Latiff.

Or, if you think it’s unfair to use international acts. Then,Β here’s our very own local act; Here in My Home, by The Malaysian Artistes for Unity (MAFU).

All the publicity and exposure surrounding the phrase; 1Malaysia, is becoming lame. You can get every company to stamp the 1Malaysia brand on themselves, but does it mean they’ve embraced the 1Malaysia spirit from within?

What are or have these companies done in spirit of 1Malaysia? Especially, if you took out their business from it and left the core of their company. Then, what have had they done for their Malaysian employees?

To stand for unity by emphasizing on a phrase is okay. But if there’s no spirit or energy to pass around, then what good is only shouting it at every corner?

Where is the love.

Birds of a feather, flock together

This is a response to Ringo’s (Cheesie) post; the thing about looks, since comments have already been closed after being bombarded by stuff either party didn’t want to read. LOL!

She wrote how the world is unfair in treating people, impression wise. From the bold and the beautiful, to the fat and drop dead fugly people they end up hooking with. In addition, she threw in the baby result to emphasize on the outcome when a beautiful wife screws a fugly husband. πŸ˜›

Well, the only thing lingering on my mind now, “God is fair”. If you were meant to be a good looking husband or wife, then you’re the rare breed. I do ask myself sometimes, how did ‘that’ guy get ‘that’ girl? Was it because of money, power or natural causes. By natural causes, I don’t mean misfiring early.

But this topic can be really interesting to discuss. It’s kinda like, why did the chicken cross the road? In this case, why did the girl or guy end up with this girl or guy?

My past girlfriends were average looking. None of them were a supermodel – though, that was the dream. But now, I guess anyone can be beautiful to me. There’s always something in a person which makes them beautiful. It could be as simple as their eyes, their nose, their cheeks, their dimple, their smile, their character and more.

I guess when we stop looking for beauty, we start realizing true beauty. πŸ™‚

p.s.: Not sure how Ringo came about the thought, if a lady got a boob job then her daughter would turn out well-balanced too. But I guess, it could be one of the many wonders of a woman. πŸ˜›

Financial freedom for only RM59

The car service yesterday took unexpectedly longer than expected. It took an additional hour or so. Resulting in being caught in the downpour, wetting the front of my pants, a new sweater and yes, a late lunch.

Me and Ariel initially wanted to have lunch in Taman Mayang. It’s where I get to enjoy my favourite wan tan mee. However, most of the stalls were closed by the time we got there. Not to mention once again, it was a really heavy downpour and winds were strong. The walking under an umbrella from the car park to the shop and back to the car park again resulted in a very wet situation. For my shorts.

No thanks to the wind. I was also feeling shivery from this. As I was trying to dry off with a hand towel, I wished I had like a larger one in the car.

Having to drive elsewhere to look for lunch. We contemplated between Centrepoint, Atria and Tropicana City Mall. I made a final decision for Tropicana because Centrepoint wouldn’t have parking and there’s nothing really to eat at Atria.

When we arrived at Tropicana, I was still feeling shivery and it isn’t much help when the air flow breezes at you as you walk into the mall. And I told Ariel, “I feel like just walking into a store and buying myself a jacket.” I did just that.

Walked right into Bossini to the back where I saw a jacket. Pulled out the price tag of the sweater and saw it was RM149. Definitely pricey until the salesperson updated me it only costs RM59 now.

Without another thought, I pulled the M-size off the hangar which fit me nicely. Paid over the counter and told the guy, “I don’t need a bag cause I’m going to wear it now.”

In my whole life, I’ve not done such a thing before. If this was buying on impulse, it sure was a damn good experience. I knew what I want, I walked into the store, bought it and wore it right away.

I was telling Ariel as we walked to a Korean restaurant, I felt like I was financially free. I didn’t have to think hard of my purchase and just got it.

Not bad to feel financially free for only RM59. πŸ˜‰

Apple iPhone 4 Confirmed

The cats out of the bag after the merry-go-round ride from:

  • New iPhone coming soon
  • Someone left iPhone 4 at a bar
  • Stranger picked up iPhone 4
  • Engadget bought iPhone 4 prototype from stranger
  • Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) happened – this morning, Malaysia time.

And finally, Steve Jobs announcing the spanking new sexy glass-faced Apple iPhone 4 at WWDC. By the way, if that’s not sexy enough, then here’s the preview of the Apple iPhone 4 design video.

It’s supposedly slimmer and the new screen is kick-ass! With a spanking ability to record videos on high-definition; 720p at 30fps.

I’m really excited to have my fingers all over the new Apple iPhone 4. All because I’m still maintaining my iPhone 2G and it’s high time for me to get a new 3G-enabled mobile phone and be connected 24/7. πŸ˜€

But, I’m still reserving my final decision and going to compare with 2 awesome mobile phones. They’ll be the:

  • HTC Evo 4G
  • Apple iPhone 4

Both match up to the functions I need and can live with. So the tie-breaker will be its operating system; iOS4 vs Android.
