Idea to clean up the big mess

When I was studying in Melbourne, I picked up the habit of cleaning up after I had my food at the fast food outlets because I saw locals doing it. It felt like I was only throwing my trash away.

Of course, I wasn’t always like this. Growing up, we had a housekeeper to clean up and I was rarely asked to clean up after meals. So, it was never a habit for me.

From my observation today, parents don’t do it because they assume it’s the responsibility of the eatery to assign someone to clean it up and their children don’t do it because…I follow my Daddy and Mummy. Doh!

No need to clean wan mar...
No need to clean wan mar…

The scene which makes it worst at times is the new people using the table do not want to clean it up. Most likely because what’s running through their mind is…

I don’t want to clean someone else’s crap left behind so I’ll keep on waving and getting the attention of the staff to help.

Sometimes even when they did “clean up”, it’s stacking the mess and pushing it aside despite having a tray to actually discard it at the proper station. #facepalm

Okay. If you clean up your stuff after you eat too, you’d know how I felt observing tables with patrons like this. And it doesn’t only happen at the eatery.

Spot the trash on the red wall

All this rubbish laying around got me thinking. The idea would be pretty extreme, however I feel if it wasn’t done then it would probably become what I could be imagining. Piles off big mess.

The Big Mess Idea

If there’s an eatery brave enough, they should cycle selected tables which will not be cleaned up after patrons have eaten. It would only be cleaned after a designated period or trays will be left on the table, for newcomers to use it and clean up the table. And understandably most patrons won’t do it without a reward, maybe the eatery staff could approach these patrons and reward them with a free dish or meal for their next visit.

Now, I know you may be thinking about how it’ll affect the hygiene of the place or whatever health excuses because food is rotting away on the table..bla bla bla bla bla.

So what the eatery can also do is sponsor some meals to small groups or individuals to eat at those tables. Or, they could observe patrons who do clean up the table and approach them for the reward. Because remember, I observed others before doing it myself.

And I do not believe we have not enough Malaysians who want to eat for free and teach the younger (and older) generation about cleaning up their mess.

Enter the MSI Dragon Army

I was given the chance to attend the MSI launch of their new laptop army dubbed the MSI Dragon Army. It’s been awhile since I’ve attended a press-con, computer related at that. So thank you MSI for the opportunity to be part of your event.

Now what better way to start of a post about hardware than some ladies. :p

I had a pretty exciting experience learning about the new line up of laptops. And I would be lying if I wasn’t impressed with their upcoming 4th generation Intel Core processor-based Mobile platform. Together with Super RAID and Killer DoubleShot.

The event started with the key speech by their Country Manager; Jerry Lu, thanking the media support and fans of MSI who attended the event.

Then a brief thank you message from Green Lin; Regional Marketing Manager, after that.

Followed by the Product Manager; Joeman Wang, who was really passionate about the new MSI laptops. In addition, what I really admired about him was because his passion came from being a gamer first then his position in MSI.

I’d say he communicated across very well because he even shared some of his personal achievements. For example, he’s a Starcraft 2 commentator in Taiwan. In my books, opening up to the audience is part of being confident. And 1 of his big dreams was.. See MSI in window display. Walk in and say to the service person before they say a word, “Shut up. Take my money.” Lol.

Before breaking, there was a Q&A for us to win prizes. I did feel quite nervous to answer and disappointed in the end because the limited edition MSI Dragon Steelseries looked sooooo super awesome! T_T And my Plantronics wire is going to be the death of me soon. Sigh. Oh well…

Next speaker up was another Product Manager; Oscar, and he was sharing more on how the new MSI Dragon lineup is also aimed not only at gamers, but designers too!

At the end of the event, we were surprised by the presence of many ladies. They were the GT girls.

And luck truly came on the day because I even managed to meet a photographer whom I’ve been wanting to meet – Hibiki. He was a really nice guy and if I were to go into photography, I’d definitely want to learn from him.

Oh yeah. Press also got a number of goodies to bring home. Thumb drive and a magic box filled with lanyard, stickers, coasters, notebook and a keychain.

All in all it was a good event and I’m looking forward to share the new MSI Dragon laptop lineup. 😉

1st time voter in the Malaysia General Elections

It was 8.00 AM and together with my family, we went for breakfast. Let me say this earlier, we have not had breakfast together like this in awhile. And I’m thankful for it because of this general election. In addition, I witnessed many other families eating together. One man with his grandfather looked so happy and proud – a sight rarely seen.

After a good breakfast, we left for the polling station and parked our car not far off to walk there. As we walked toward the entrance, we stopped at the SPR counter to check our room.

After the verification, I was given a paper with the room number.

Room number 8
Room number 8

And as usual, my Dad jokingly was talking about 4D when he saw I was room number 8. *facepalm*

So once we knew our rooms, we walked in and join the right queue. There were several lines formed and a paper stuck on the wall roughly indicated the location of the rooms.

My queue was stupendously long from 1 corner of the block, across the bridge connecting to the next block, up the stairs and all the way further.

I kid you not.
I kid you not.

The elderly and senior citizens had it easier because their rooms were on the ground floor. Some of the rooms there even had chairs outside for the voters to sit.

Sit and wait

Back in my queue, some voters were requested to proceed to their rooms ahead because the lines were short. However, mine was a long way to go.

My room was at the end of the line

When I reached the floor of my room, I was wondering that it would’ve been more systematic if they used the middle stairs you see in the photo for my queue. Because this would make it less confusing of which queue voters should follow. All the voters from Room 5 to 8 were in my queue, then formed more queues when they were on the top floor as you can see.

Anyway, when it came to my turn to enter the room, I was hoping to get the middle clerk to paint the indelible ink for me because I noticed he was neater. Whereas I got the first clerk and… -_-

Rather messy if you asked me
Rather messy if you ask me

Once we walked out of the polling station, I felt really proud to do my share this round and I was strongly hoping for a change. As much as I know it wouldn’t really happen, I was still hoping in this round we’d give them a run for their money and they’d be sweating buckets to know we’re the generation to deal with from now on.

And if you were wondering how to remove the indelible ink, I made a video testing 4 different methods and shared other methods found – like Clorox.

How to remove indelible ink from Malaysia General Election (GE13)

I’m a 1st time voter and I’m proud to say I had taken my first patriotic duty for my Malaysia. Woohoo! Plus, this is the 1st time indelible ink was used.

How to remove indelible ink?

So, say you wanted to remove the indelible ink. My friends were suggesting numerous methods; hand sanitizer, toothpaste, soap and sponge. Before I did all that (yes, I tried it all), I asked Uncle Google “how to remove indelible ink” and eHow suggested rubbing alcohol. The pharmacy didn’t have it so instead, I used nail polish remover and here was my finding.

I believe mine was more difficult to clean because it was dry. And by the time I finished testing out all of this, other alternative methods to remove indelible ink appeared online. *facepalm*

CLOROX (I KID YOU NOT!)

So by the end of the day, what was the method you used to remove the indelible ink?

I wantz AKB0048 Season 3 Final Stage

Completed watching the Second Stage and I enjoyed the last episode the fullest. Can’t help but watch the last episode over and over again. It keeps giving me motivation and lifts me when I’m down. Thank you!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWQUf2qWKdg

However, I hope they’re coming up with a 3rd season or Final Stage because I feel there are some questions left unanswered.

Who ordered to kill Chieri’s Dad ? Who was the killer ?

What happened to the D.G.T.O ? How is the AKB0048 battling the underground gambling on their performances ?

Can Chieri manage the Center Nova ability on her own ? Will Nagisa become Center Nova as well ?

Maybe the production company did this on purpose when they choose to continue in future. But I hope they don’t take too long. T_T
