Beware of fake new RM50 notes

Posted on January 27, 2010 by dannyfoo

Email forwarded messages sometimes are useful. This recently reached my inbox and though some might already know, here are some of the images shared to identify the fake notes.

If you’re in the retail business or dealing with huge amounts of cashflow, better to make sure the RM50 notes given are authentic. It doesn’t look as difficult to tell if I last compared to a fake RM10 I had before.

Remember to look out for:

  • Missing reflective hibiscus on the front.
  • Missing 50th Malaysia celebration logo on the back.
  • Additional silver line on the back (and it’s thicker).

Any other fake Malaysian currency notes you’ve stumbled on?
