Italian food at Trattoria Cucina Italiana

One of the hidden gems in Kuala Lumpur beneath a corporate tower is Trattoria Cucina Italiana, which of course means they’re an Italian restaurant. It’s a cozy place which serves some authentic Italian pasta, pizza along with other Italian food on your mind.

Me and some friends visited this Italian restaurant awhile back – missed posting this, because some of them bought the coupon wanting to tryout the food. And being Malaysian as a Malaysian can be, we had to go makan-lah. :P

The road to the restaurant wasn’t exactly straight-forward because it’s found on the ground floor of the Perkasa Tower, nearby Beach Club thereabout. Parking in the building tells you its either old (narrow ramps) or maybe everyone were driving old minis previously. *shrug*

Authentic styles normally are consistently good – taste wise. We started with some bruschetta and I think, risotta balls. Our main meals were pasta – wasn’t runny nor too thick, and it made sure we had space in our stomachs for pizza and even some dessert.

All of us agreed the food was satisfying and we wouldn’t mind returning for another meal in the future. I can’t recall how much I paid for two (me and Ariel didn’t get the coupon) but I think our meal was around RM65-75 per person.

Bowling of a Time

Yesterday a couple of friends and colleagues of mine organized a bowling activity. It’s tough getting directors of your own companies together for such an event at times. Especially during the really busy periods. Periods like now when I’m even forced to work weekends. Argh!

Anyway, we had a bowl of a time.

It’s been ages since I picked up my bowling ball. Yes, I own 2 balls as I used to be pretty active in sports back in school. Those were the really good old days of my sporting life.

And the highest game I’ve ever gotten in bowling was 285. In visualization, that’s approximately 9 strikes in a row. I don’t think I’ll achieve that mark again unless I go and get some coaching again.

Oh well. I’m not that serious in the game anymore but sure would like to be active in it once again. I’ve totally forgotten how should I aim anymore. LOL!

By the way, serious bowlers need to be wary of the UBowl (1Utama) alley because one my balls was damaged with a scrape between the finger holes. I don’t think I can use this ball now, ever. :(

Lots of Laughter with P1 Buddies at LOL Cafe, SS19 Subang Jaya

Met up with some P1 buddies (Veron, Kenny, Lawrence, Cynthia x2, Jason x2, Elroy and Trevor) last night for dinner together with Ariel. We ate at a new place to me called; LOL Cafe, located in SS19 Subang Jaya.

Being an Internetizen, LOL would’ve stand for Laugh Out Loud. But nope, it’s called Lots of Laughter or one of our friends said; Lots of Love. For good food.

The highlight of the dinner was indeed the grilled crab. Its meat was so fresh and sweet you could just eat and eat. Other than the crab, we also had:

  • Pork satay (yes, pork!)
  • Deep fried shrimp (Kenny and Veron agreed it had to have beer)
  • Chili lala (spicyness!)
  • Grilled cockles (me and Kenny were downing a plate)
  • BBQ lamb (a little on the salty side)
  • BBQ chicken wings (this was the bomb!)

And to accompany our food, some of us brought wine and alcohol. Seriously, it’s been a long time I had a hearty meal, good food, good wine and great company. All in one Friday night – awesomeness!

As I said on my Facebook status…

Great food. Great friends. The only way to enjoy great company. :)

TGIF, yesterday.
